Overview

This course will provide students with general training for working in live theatre, with a stage management focus. The students will be engaged in a range of internal and external experiences, including: secondment work as part of festivals, theatre productions and events; producing two one-act play seasons in Melbourne theatre venues while working with outside directors and actors, and related course work at TAFE.

Qualification & Recognition

Successful students are eligible to receive the Certificate IV in Live Production, Theatre and Events (Technical Operations).

Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer

Students may be able to shorten the length of their chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQTF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.

Course Fees

Fees are calculated according to the level of course being studied, and the number of hours being undertaken, up to Government established maximums. Eligible students are able to access a Government Subsidised Place and certain categories of Full Fee Paying students may be able to access an Eligibility Exemption. Assistance is available in the form of VET FEE HELP or a Holmesglen Payment Plan for students who are unable to afford fee payment up front. Plot technical requirements from scores
This unit describes skills and knowledge required to interpret a musical score in conjunction with a musical specialist to determine and deliver technical elements of live productions/events. This unit does not cover skills associated with reading music but requires a broad understanding of notations on a score.
