Trowel Trades- Semester Pathway Program
This course is a Semester Pathway program and can only be completed if you are in secondary school.
This program provides you with an insight into the training required to achieve a trade qualification. Particular attention will be given to the correct use of tools and equipment, occupational health and safety, and industry terminology. You will gain some experience in bricklaying, tiling, plastering and stone masonry.
You are required to provide work pants (sturdy long pants), safety boots, safety glasses and earplugs, basic function calculator and builders pencil, ball point pens, ruler, eraser and exercise book.

- Building and construction apprenticeship
Wednesdays 8.00am - 4.00pm.
Assessment may be a combination of written and online assignments, tests, examinations and practical application projects.
Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQTF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. Transition in to a Certificate II in Bricklaying/blocklaying Pre - Apprenticeship
0r Certificate III in Bricklaying/blocklaying Apprenticeship.
in other words a direct path into an Apprenticeship.
How to Apply
A training contract must be completed by the employer and apprentice within the first two weeks of employment. An Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC) representative will visit the workplace to complete the training contract with the employer and the apprentice. - Part time student
- Full time student commencing studies outside of the February intake
- Non year 12 applicant and only applying to Holmesglen
