Overview

This course is the ideal pathway into the web development and multimedia industry. Learning the tools and techniques required to use industry standard web and multimedia applications, students will work on individual and team projects, simulating tasks performed in the workplace.

Students will be involved in designing and constructing web pages and creating the look and feel of the site. The designers role is to create, in consultation with the client, the flow or story of the website and how information will be displayed. Designers will make use of graphical knowledge, knowledge of specific technologies and various platforms, creative flair and ability to put down an image, layout and design skills, and technical knowledge of hardware, software and specific web languages.

Qualification & Recognition

On successful completion of this course students are eligible to receive the nationally endorsed Certificate IV in Information Technology (Websites).

Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer

Students may be able to shorten the length of their chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQTF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.

Course Fees

Fees are calculated according to the level of course being studied, and the number of hours being undertaken, up to Government established maximums. Certain categories of students may be eligible for a Government Subsidised Place. Assistance is available for those who are unable to afford fee payment up front.

Assessment

Assessment is a combination of written assignments, tests, examinations and or practical application projects. Students are required to attend tests and examinations as scheduled.

    Graduates may complete a further six months of study to achieve the Diploma of Information Technology (Multimedia). Graduates of the Diploma may articulate into a Bachelor of Information Technology degree offered at university or apply for an extensive range of degree level programs in the field of information technology.
