  • Course Overview

    This nationally recognised course provides training for electricians to gain the required skills to design and install grid-connected PV systems.

    Successful completion meets the Clean Energy Council UEE11 Accreditation pathway and will entitle licensed electricians to apply for Provisional Accreditation for Design and Install of Grid-connected PV systems with the Clean Energy Council. For more information visit the CEC website.

  • Course Structure

    This course blends online learning with practical face-to-face on-campus workshops.

    Students are required to complete online study and attend a series of on-campus practical workshop sessions. The online study and on-campus sessions are delivered in parallel, by one course instructor.

    Online study
    The online component covers all the theoretical knowledge and assessment required for design and installation of grid-connected PV systems.

    You will be provided with a course book, access to our online learning resources, and ongoing support with the course instructor.

    You must successfully complete compulsory online coursework prior to attending a related practical workshop session.

    Practical workshop
    The workshops will include a review of online content to ensure you obtain a thorough understanding of all design and theoretical knowledge, and cover all the practical requirements and assessment for the course, including installation of Grid-Connected PV systems. Attendance at the practical workshops is compulsory.

    Workshops will be delivered in our progressive purpose built Renewable Energy Training Centre at our Moorabbin campus, built in partnership with industry.

    Commencing study
    The course commences on the start date listed above. You will be contacted by the course instructor to discuss the program and schedule. You will also be provided with all course resources to commence the online course work.

    To successfully complete the course, all course work and assessments must be satisfactorily completed.

    *Those completing the Design Only Grid-Connected PV Systems are required to attend Days 1, 2, and 3 of the  practical workshop sessions.

    Assessment

    Assessment is by self-paced online quizzes and observation of workshop practical activities and off-the-job projects. To achieve successful completion of this course participates will need to attend to all aspects of the program. This includes all the online and practical assessments within the specified time frames.

    Qualification & Recognition

    After successfully completing this course, you are eligible to receive the nationally endorsed statement of attainment.

    Unrestricted electrical license holders may apply to the Clean Energy Council (CEC) for Provisional Accreditation for Design and Install of Grid-connected PV systems. Check out the CEC website for further information.

    Course Commencement

    This course requires you to undertake online study and attend a series of on-campus practical workshop sessions at our state of the art Renewable Energy Training Facility.

    Workshops are held at our Moorabbin campus, 8.30 am - 4 pm each day.

    • October 16 - November 24

      (Practical workshops* scheduled: November 1, 2, 3 and 9 & 10)

    2018 Course Dates, Semester 1:

    • January 22 - March 2

      (Practical workshops* scheduled: February 7, 8, 9, and 15 & 16)

    • March 5 - April 20

      (Practical workshops* scheduled: March 21, 22, 23, and April 5 & 6)

    • April 18 - May 25

      (Practical workshops* scheduled: May 3, 4, 5, and 11 & 12)

    *Attendance at workshop sessions is compulsory. You must successfully complete the online component to be eligible to attend the workshops.

    Payments options are available to assist with repayment of tuition fees. HELP loans, which are a government loan scheme, are available to eligible students. A Student Services and Amenities fee is payable at the time of enrolment. All fee payments must be completed by the Administrative Date and the final date to withdraw without incurring a Loan debt must be completed by the Census Date.

    Individual subject tuition fees are available for higher education programs.

    The published fee was current at the time of publication however, due to a rise in resource and delivery costs, full fee programs may be subject to change.
