  • Course Overview

    This Course gives you training in the Flux-Cored Arc Welding process, power and hand tools, safe welding practices, and engineering measurements, which are used in the fabrication/welding industry.

    Successful completion of this program will give you the necessary skills to do basic flux-core arc welding in a manufacturing/fabrication engineering company.

  • Requirements

    Recognition of prior learning

    You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.

    Qualification & Recognition

    On successful completion of this course you are eligible to receive the nationally endorsed statement of attainment.


    After completing this program, you may choose to study a full qualification at Certificate IV, or a Diploma in Advanced Trade.  You may also choose to study engineering as an apprenticeship. We can assist you with finding employment and have strong connections with employers who are currently seeking engineering apprentices.

    A welding certification course is another study option, which could lead to a welding certification (Welding Ticket), examined by the WTIA (Welders Technology Institute of Australia).

    Obtaining welding certificates or completing higher level qualifications, often results in much higher wages and enables greater opportunity for advancing a career in the manufacturing/fabrication engineering industry.
