This online skill set is designed for students who have some 2D experience (in topics including 2D Fundamentals) to learn the latest techniques on AutoCAD 2016. In a simple step-by-step process, using video tutorials, you will produce basic to advanced drawings in 2D, which utilises the latest features, commands and techniques.
After completing the course, you will have an in-depth knowledge and developed skills that will enable you to work autonomously and productively with AutoCAD.
You will receive support from experienced trainers and over nine hours of in-depth video tutorials. After enrolling with Holmesglen, you are eligible to download a free 3 year student full-trial version of AutoCAD 2016 and the latest industry software from the Autodesk community website.

- Annotative text
- Scaling and dimensioning in multiple viewports
- Multiple layouts
- Advanced 2D drawings
- Multi lines and the design centre
- Analysing geometry (areas, perimeters, volumes, etc)
AssessmentAssessment may be a combination of written and online assignments, tests and practical application projects.

Recognition of prior learning
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.

PrerequisitesThere no formal pre-requisites for this program, however it is recommended you complete AutoCAD 2D Fundamentals prior to commencing this course.
Qualification & Recognition
After successfully completing this course, you are eligible to receive the nationally endorsed statement of attainment.
Upon completion, students can continue studying with 3D Modeling
Units go towards qualification MEM40412 Certificate IV in Engineering Drafting.
After successfully completing this course, you will have the necessary skills to use AutoCAD in a drafting environment.
