The course provides comprehensive training if you are a floor covering and finishing apprentice.
This course is delivered both on and off the job. This method of delivery ensures you develop the most up to date knowledge and skills required in the workplace.
Core training is delivered off the job in Holmesglen's specially designed facilities, where an emphasis is placed on providing hands-on, practical training wherever possible.
To receive this qualification you must complete 11 core units and 14 elective units. Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications. If you have already completed other eligible elective units, these may be counted towards completion of this program.
The course structure displayed below is for the General Stream. Students are able to select from three other streams: Timber, Carpet and Resilient.
AssessmentAssessment will be conducted on and off the job, and will involve practical demonstration, third party report, oral questions and written activities and tests.

Recognition of prior learning
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.

Upon successfully completing of this program, you will be eligible to receive the nationally endorsed MSF30813 Certificate III in Flooring Technology.

How to Apply
A training contract must be completed by the employer and apprentice within the first two weeks of employment. An Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC) representative will visit the workplace to complete the training contract with the employer and the apprentice. Which fee applies to me?
Due to the different level of government subsidy available to you, there are three possible fee levels for program fees – government subsidised, full fee and concession.
Your eligibility for concession or subsidised program fees is determined by your individual circumstances such as how old you are, what level of education you have and what type of program you want to study. Concession fees are not available for qualifications at diploma level or above.

How do I pay my fees?
VET Fee HELP / VET Student Loans is an Australian Government loan scheme that helps eligible students pay all or part of their tuition fees for diploma, advanced diploma, graduate certificate and graduate diploma programs.
Holmesglen also offers a range of scholarships each year which you may be eligible to apply for.
