This is a VET Delivered to Secondary Students (previously VETiS) course and can only be completed as part of your VCE or VCAL program.
This course provides the skills and knowledge for you to be competent in a wide range of general information and communications technology (ICT) technical functions. After successfully completing this course, you may be able to be employed as an information technology support worker. Jobs are available across a wide range of ICT areas, including technical support, systems administration and network administration.
This is a two-year program open to school aged students from Years 10 to 12. Over the course of the program, you will have the option of undertaking a Scored VET in VCE.
AssessmentAssessment may be a combination of written and online assignments, tests, examinations and practical application projects which also form SAC assessments.

When undertaking the course, you must be enrolled as a VCE or VCAL student.
Qualification & Recognition
Students who complete the ICT30115 Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology (partial completion) will be eligible for up to two units of credit at Units 1 and 2 level, and a Units 3 and 4 sequence.
Students who are able to undertake further training to complete the certificate III qualification may be eligible for further credit at Units 3 and 4 level.
Students wishing to receive a study score for VCE VET Information and Communications Technology must undertake scored assessment. This consists of three coursework tasks worth 66% of the overall study score, and an end of year examination worth 34% of the overall study score.
Scored assessment will be based on the Units 3 and 4 sequence partial completion of ICT30115 Certificate III in Information and Digital Media and Technology.
Students who study this course at Holmesglen can complete a full Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology.
On completion of the course, you may further your education in a range of IT courses.
This course is suitable for those who are looking for entry level positions such as level 1 helpdesk and PC support roles, as well as those who have an interest in developing specialist IT skills through further education.
This course is delivered on Wednesdays, 1.30 pm - 5.30 pm.
