  • Course Overview

    Are you interested in web design/development and multimedia? This course is the ideal pathway into the web development and multimedia industry. Learn to build beautiful responsive websites and web application using the tools and techniques required in industry. Gain practical hands on experience by working to develop solutions with cutting edge, industry standard skills and technology.

    Whilst undertaking this Diploma, you will be trained to use a variety of technologies to rapidly prototype and develop websites including; HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, JavaScript, Bootstrap, PHP and MySQL. You will develop and create rich, responsive and accessible sites that are faster, more accessible with beautiful user interface and  user experiences.

    Digital marketing is an integral skill for any web developer in order to build successful online marketing campaigns, ad campaigns and email marketing campaigns. You will learn how to take advantage of website analytics to build targeted campaigns that will achieve tangible results for your clients.

    Demand for web video content is predicted to expand in 2017, as a result Video/Videography subject has been incorporated to prepare you for creating and edit video content for clients. Additionally you will learn best practices for developing and distributing video marketing content.

    Taking advantage of PHP and MySQL you will learn to build powerful web solutions for your clients. You will develop a comprehensive understanding of the design and technical skills required to work within the web and digital media industry. Delivery format of this course will include face to face student contact along with practical lessons supported by supplementary video/screencasts. Each video/screencast will provide you with necessary theory and/or practical lessons that can be viewed multiple times and at your own convenience.

  • Course Structure

    To receive this qualification you must complete 8 core units and 12 elective units. Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications. If you have already completed other eligible elective units, these may be counted towards completion of this program.

    Assessment

    Assessment may be a combination of written and online assignments, tests, examinations and practical application projects.

  • Requirements

    Recognition of prior learning

    You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.     • VCE (ATAR) or equivalent; or
    • Mature age (at least 18 years of age and away from formal study for at least one year).

    Which fee applies to me?

    Due to the different level of government subsidy available to you, there are three possible fee levels for program fees – government subsidised, full fee and concession.

    Your eligibility for concession or subsidised program fees is determined by your individual circumstances such as how old you are, what level of education you have and what type of program you want to study. Concession fees are not available for qualifications at diploma level or above.

    How do I pay my fees?

    VET Fee HELP / VET Student Loans is an Australian Government loan scheme that helps eligible students pay all or part of their tuition fees for diploma, advanced diploma, graduate certificate and graduate diploma programs.

    Holmesglen also offers a range of scholarships each year which you may be eligible to apply for.

    To be eligible for a VET Fee HELP /  VET Student Loans you will need to meet the VET Student Loans entry requirements.

Strong emphasis is placed on creativity and conceptual development using software packages and programming languages that are of industry standard.
