    If travel is one of your passions in life, the Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management, together with the Diploma of Holiday Park and Resort Management, will introduce you to the wide variety of career choices that are available in this exciting global industry.

    Whether your dream job involves working with clients to create the perfect holiday, living and working on a cruise ship or exotic resort, or taking adventurers on tours around our amazing country or even the world,  this dual qualification course will give you the essential skills and knowledge required to step straight into the travel and tourism industry.

    This course is delivered in one year over two semester. During the first semester, you will be enrolled in the Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management, and also the front office pathway units that make up the entry requirements for the Diploma of Holiday Park and Resort Management. In semester two, once you have successfully completed the pathway units, you will be enrolled in the Diploma of Holiday Park and Resort Management.

    The range of units will ensure you are fully prepared to enter the tourism industry, whether this is in a retail agency environment, an operational resort or cruise ship role, or taking a position with a tourism supplier.

    During the course, you will undertake units in airline reservations, international fares and ticketing, local and international destination studies, customer service, sales and brochure production, as well as resort management, including front office reception services and reservations. Exposure to the cruising market, now one of the largest growth areas in tourism and tour guiding, will provide you with a solid foundation for a range of roles within this diverse international industry.

    During this course, you will be offered travel opportunities around Victoria, Australia and even Asia, so that you have the chance to increase your tourism knowledge.

    Recognition of prior learning

    You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. Please see Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer for more information.

    Prerequisites

    There are no formal prerequisites for this course. 

    You will undertake pathway units for entry to the Diploma of Holiday Park and Resorts Management.

    After successfully completing these courses, you will be eligible to receive the nationally endorsed SIT50116 Diploma of Travel and Tourism Management and the SIT50216 Diploma of Holiday Park and Resort Management.

    After graduating with these qualifications, you may wish to complete further studies in travel and tourism, or other business disciplines at advanced diploma or degree level.

    How do I pay my fees?

    VET Fee HELP / VET Student Loans is an Australian Government loan scheme that helps eligible students pay all or part of their tuition fees for diploma, advanced diploma, graduate certificate and graduate diploma programs.

    Holmesglen also offers a range of scholarships each year which you may be eligible to apply for.

    To be eligible for a VET Fee HELP /  VET Student Loans you will need to meet the VET Student Loans entry requirements.

    Fees for 2018: $14,200 per year.
    In addition to course fees, students will have expenses totalling approximately $1700 (AUD) for activities and/or materials.
