  • Course Overview

Our unique combination of nutrition theory, hands-on food creation, plus work experience in our Wellness Centre and in the workplace, will set you up for an exciting career in this field.

During your studies, you will gain a detailed understanding of nutritional needs, understand how the body works and metabolises food, and develop skills to evaluate meal plans and adjust them for individual requirements. Learn about different cultures, how food needs may change when illness arises, or if a person is diagnosed with allergies or intolerances.

Spend time in our commercial kitchens using the nutrition theory you learn to create specialised dietary food, therapeutic juices, superfood delights and nutrient dense meals. Create sweet desserts made without sugar and delicious, highly nutritious snacks and smoothie supplements.

Apply your new knowledge and skills in our Wellness Centre and out in the workforce at aged care facilities and hospitals, where you will complete 120 hours assisting dietitians and nutritionists, and working with chefs to meet the dietary needs of clients.

This comprehensive course also includes study of mental health and chronic disease to help you understand the whole person and their health needs. You will also learn how to screen clients for malnutrition and dietary assessment.
