Holmesglen to acquire Federation Training’s Chadstone campus

Leading Victorian TAFE Holmesglen Institute will expand its vocational training footprint in Melbourne's south east when it acquires Federation Training's Chadstone campus.

An agreement between Holmesglen and Gippsland-based Federation Training will see the Chadstone facility delivering civil infrastructure and construction training.

The campus will also continue to be Victoria's premier training facility for the electricity, gas and telecommunications utility sectors, building on two decades of training for these sectors at the site.

"This acquisition is exciting for us because it provides space and facilities for a new specialist campus focussing on civil infrastructure and construction," said Mary Faraone, Chief Executive of Holmesglen.

"Holmesglen is committed to maintaining delivery of all current programs on the campus and looks forward to working with existing students and clients."

According to Federation Training's Interim CEO, Grant Radford, the sale of the Chadstone campus to Holmesglen is a positive development for both parties and for the students and clients utilising the facility.

"This agreement will allow Federation Training to focus solely on its Gippsland assets and operations" said Mr Grant Radford.

"Having the Chadstone campus managed by a leading metropolitan TAFE Institute such as Holmesglen will allow local governance and strategic engagement with the specialised training provided at the Chadstone site."

Holmesglen will work with Federation Training on the transition for effective acquisition from 1 January 2019.
