2018 Victorian of the Year, Samuel Johnson will address our graduating class this March.

Samuel Johnson announced as 2018 Holmesglen Academic Graduation Guest Speaker

2018 Victorian of the Year, and Australian of the Year finalist, Samuel Johnson will address the latest group of graduates at our Academic Graduation this March.

Mr Johnson will speak at the two ceremonies, which will be held at Melbourne's Hamer Hall.

An important figure in the Australian television industry, Mr Johnson made a move into community work, devoting his time and passions to raising money for breast cancer research. The initiative originated after his sister, Connie, was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Consequently, Mr Johnson rode his unicycle around Australia, raising $1.6 million for the Garvan Research Foundation. Love Your Sister – a project between Mr Johnson and his sister – has since raised more than $7 million for cancer research. The organisation is continuing its aim of raising $10 million.

Mr Johnson was awarded the Gold Logie in 2017 for his performance as Molly Meldrum in TV mini-series, Molly. He was also awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia in 2017.
