This qualification relates to Early Childhood Educators who under direct supervision are:

  • Responsible for implementing and evaluating children's programs.
  • To work as a team with other staff, volunteers and students.
  • Able to have an understanding of indigenous culture and history and work with local communities.
  • Two study delivery options are available for prospective students.

Graduates of the Certificate III in Children's Services may apply for entry to Holmesglen's Diploma of Children's Services (Early Childhood Education and Care).

Pre-requisites

Good passes at Year 11 level or the overseas equivalent;

And

English language proficiency of IELTS 5.5 (with no individual bandscore less than 5.5), ISLPR 2+, TOEFL 197 (CB) or 46 (iBT), PTE Academic Score of 42 (no communicative skill score less than 42), Cambridge English: Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) of 47 or equivalent.

Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer

Students may be able to shorten the length of their chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQTF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.

How to Apply

International students must apply through the International Centre at Holmesglen. Please download an application form and forward it to international.admissions@holmesglen.edu.au together with certified copies of your academic transcripts and the A$500 Application Fee. Students may also apply through one of Holmesglen's accredited agents overseas. Please refer to the separate listing www.holmesglen.edu.au/international . Students with citizenship of countries classified by DIAC as Assessment Level 3 or 4 www.immi.gov.au/students/student-visa-assessment-levels.htm MUST apply through one of Holmesglen's accredited agents.

Fees

For 2014: $5,950 for full duration.

Qualification & Recognition

On successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to receive a nationally endorsed Certificate III in Children's Services.
