  • Program Overview

    By undertaking the Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice you are well on the way to commencing your massage career. During this course you will focus on both the technical and practical skills required to become a successful massage therapist.

    Studying anatomy and physiology, basic muscular assessment and therapeutic massage, you will develop the technical and practical skills required to be able to implement successful relaxation massage.

    This program is an ideal pathway for further study into the Diploma of Remedial Massage.

  • Requirements

    Recognition of prior learning

    You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQTF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.     Prerequisites

    • An interest in developing skills and knowledge for conducting relaxation massage consultations.
    • A desire and interest in the natural/complementary therapies.
    • A mature attitude and approach to study.

  • Outcomes

    Qualification & Recognition

    Upon successful completion of this course you will be awarded both the Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice qualification and the Apply First Aid Statement of Attainment. 

    Pathways

    Upon successful completion of the Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice graduates will be able to articulate directly into a Diploma of Remedial Massage.

  • Fees

    This training is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government funding to eligible students.

    Fees are calculated according to the level of course being studied, and the number of hours being undertaken, up to Government established maximums. Eligible students are able to access a Government Subsidised Place and certain categories of Full Fee Paying students may be able to access an Eligibility Exemption. Assistance is available in the form of VET FEE HELP or a Holmesglen Payment Plan for students who are unable to afford fee payment up front.

    Assessment

    Assessment will involve a variety of methods throughout the duration of this course. Assessments may take the form of written assignments, reports, case note-taking, theoretical exams and quizzes, practical assessments and demonstrations. Students will be required to perform practical massage examinations.

  • Requirements

    Prerequisites

    Good passes at Year 11 level or the overseas equivalent and preferably some relevant work experience;

    And

    English language proficiency of IELTS 5.5 (Academic), ISLPR 2+, TOEFL 197 (CB) or 46 (iBT), PTE Academic Score of 42 (no communicative skill score less than 42), Cambridge English: Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) of 47 or equivalent.
