    This course provides skills and knowledge development training for people seeking management positions and a career within the broader hospitality industry.

    Holmesglen's balanced delivery of practical and theory will enable you to apply your skills whilst learning in our fully equipped facilities, including on campus restaurants, bars and kitchens.

    This course incorporates the Diploma of Hospitality. If you already have completed the diploma, you will be able to complete this course in just six months.

    The Advanced Diploma of Hospitality is endorsed by the Australian Hospitality Review Panel.

    Recognition of prior learning

    You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQTF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. Please see Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer for more information.

    Upon successfully completing this program, you will be eligible to receive the nationally endorsed Advanced Diploma of Hospitality qualification.

    Which fee applies to me?

    Due to the different level of government subsidy available to you, there are three possible fee levels for program fees – concession, subsidised and full fee.

    Your eligibility for concession or subsidised program fees is determined by your individual circumstances such as how old you are, what level of education you have and what type of program you want to study.

    How do I pay my fees?

    VET Fee HELP is an Australian Government loan scheme that helps eligible students pay all or part of their tuition fees for diploma, advanced diploma, graduate certificate and graduate diploma programs.

    Holmesglen also offers a range of scholarships each year which you may be eligible to apply for.

  • Program Overview

    This course provides the training skills and development if you are seeking management positions and a career within the broader hospitality industry. The course is delivered with a balanced practical and theory focus.

    You will apply your skills whilst learning in our fully equipped practical facilities, including on campus restaurants, bars and kitchens.

    You will also enjoy work placement with our industry partners and study in our state-of-the-art campus facilities, featuring wi-fi computer labs, lecture threatres and well resourced Information Commons. 

    After completing this course you may undertake a range of career opportunities in resorts, hotels and venues in Australia and internationally.

    The Advanced Diploma of Hospitality is endorsed by the Australian Hospitality Review Panel and includes the Diploma of Business Management.

  • Program Structure

    Students will first complete the three stages incorporated into the Diploma of Hospitality, and will then undertake a fourth stage specific to the Advanced Diploma. Students must complete all units, and will be progressively recognised for the level of qualification completed.

    Prerequisites

    Good passes at Year 11 level or the overseas equivalent plus relevant employment experience;

    English language proficiency of IELTS 5.5 (Academic), ISLPR 2+, TOEFL 197 (CB) or 46 (iBT), PTE Academic Score of 42 (no communicative skill score less than 42), Cambridge English: Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) of 47 or equivalent.

    Qualification & Recognition

    The Advanced Diploma of Hospitality is a nationally recognised qualification within the hospitality and tourism industries. The course has also received the endorsement of the Australian Hospitality Review Panel.

    Career Opportunities

    Want to run the show? Graduates of the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality are equipped with the basic skills required for supervisor and management positions within the Hospitality industry. This may include such jobs as managing staff at a boutique hotel, or supervising the floor at a trendy café. Or, if you want to be your own boss, the mix of business and practical hospitality skills give you a firm foundation from which you could consider starting your own venture!
