    If you are seeking a management position within the hospitality industry, this hands on course gives you the training and development you need for your future career. Your studies will involve placement in Holmesglen's student training restaurants (Zestat Waverley and

    Cilantroat Moorabbin) where you will learn the intricacies of front of house service in a fine dining establishment.

    You will apply your skills whilst learning in our fully equipped practical facilities as well as enjoy work placement with our industry partners. Subjects studied include: the Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) qualification; practical training on food preparation; food serving and food safety; managing budgets and staffing; and an additional focus on barista training (essential for those wanting to work in Melbourne).

    The Diploma of Hospitality Management offers a fantastic overview of the tasks involved in supervising front of house at a restaurant or cafe - a perfect choice for those looking to work in the exciting hospitality industry.

    Career paths open to graduates include management roles in resorts, hotels, function centres, casinos, cruise liners and gaming venues. You may wish to pursue restaurant management, accommodation operations, specialist wine roles and supervisory and management roles within sales, marketing, inventory and logistics at major hotels and facilities worldwide.

    Recognition of prior learning

    You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.

    Qualification & Recognition

    Upon successfully completing this program, you will be eligible to receive the nationally endorsed Diploma of Hospitality, which also includes the Responsible Service of Alcohol and Food Hygiene certificates.


    Graduates of the Diploma of Hospitality can apply for theAdvanced Diploma of Hospitalityor the

    University of Canberra's Bachelor of Hospitality Management, delivered on campus in Melbourne.

    Which fee applies to me?

    Due to the different level of government subsidy available to you, there are three possible fee levels for program fees – concession, subsidised and full fee.

    Your eligibility for concession or subsidised program fees is determined by your individual circumstances such as how old you are, what level of education you have and what type of program you want to study.

    How do I pay my fees?

    VET Fee HELP is an Australian Government loan scheme that helps eligible students pay all or part of their tuition fees for diploma, advanced diploma, graduate certificate and graduate diploma programs.

    Holmesglen also offers a range of scholarships each year which you may be eligible to apply for.
