Victoria Police Entrance Exam
Holmesglen Chadstone is registered as an official testing venue for the Victoria Police Education Entrance Exam.
The first step to pursuing a career in the Police Force is to sit and pass the Education Entrance Exam. The exam is made up of five components:
- Spelling and comprehension
- Mathematics
- Reasoning
- English skills
- Writing task
and candidates must initially sit all components. If you are unsuccessful on any of the components you can re-sit the individual component/s within 12 months.

Requirements:
Introduction of a Victoria Police Registration Number for Applicants
All applicants wishing to attempt the Entrance Examination must first register at www.policecareer.vic.gov.au and await the allocation of a registration number prior to booking into an exam date.
This requirement applies to both full sit and re-sit candidates.
If you have any prior convictions including some traffic offences or believe you may not meet the medical requirements please contact the Victoria Police Recruiting Office on 13 2001.
There is no minimum or maximum age limit, however applicants must have a current Victorian manual drivers licence prior to induction into the Academy. If you are under 21, you must have passed VCE or possess an equivalent interstate qualification.
Candidates must be a citizen or a permanent resident of Australia or entitled to this status under Commonwealth law.
Exam Booking Procedure
Once you have a Victoria Police Registration Number, candidates wishing to undertake a Full Sit or Re-Sit exam can then proceed to the VETASSESS website www.vetassesstest.com.au/vicPol/ to book into an exam. To successfully book an exam candidates will be required to enter their Victoria Police Registration Number. The online booking system will list all exam dates being held at Holmesglen. VETASSESS will process all Victoria Police Education Entrance Exam bookings, receive and process all payments, and forward a letter of confirmation.
Cost
The police exam fee is $120.00 for a full sit, and a re-sit is $45.00 per component (both GST exempt)
Exam Times and Dates
Exams are held at Holmesglen on Saturdays only. Exam times are 9.00am to approximately 1.15pm.
