Adult Migration Education Program

What is the Adult Migrant English Program?

The Adult Migrant English Program is a program that teaches English to people from non-English speaking backgrounds who have newly arrived in Australia and who cannot communicate effectively in English.

If you are a migrant or refugee, learning to communicate in English is essential to your new life in Australia. You should contact us to see if you can join one of the classes here at Holmesglen. We have well qualified and experienced teachers who understand the needs of new arrivals and can help you to use English effectively.

Who can apply?

The following categories of people are eligible for free English classes:
  • newly-arrived migrants or people on humanitarian visas from overseas
  • migrants who arrived in Australia after 1 July 1991
  • temporary residents who hold a gazetted visa class
  • people who have been granted permanent residence in Australia since July 1991

To check your eligibility contact: (03) 9564 2057 or (03) 9564 1978 or (03) 9209 5768
