Borrowing from Other Libraries
If you are a currently registered Holmesglen Institute of TAFE student or staff member, there are several options available for obtaining materials additional to those held within the Learning Commons collections. Choose an option below depending upon your needs:
CAVAL Reciprocal Borrowing Program
Holmesglen belongs to CAVAL which is a group of libraries that have established a reciprocal borrowing program to allow students and staff to use other library collections in Victoria.
Holmesglen staff and students may be eligible to apply for a CAVAL card which can be used to borrow from other TAFE and university libraries. Staff and students must have a good borrowing record to be eligible for the program.
CAVAL card holders can borrow materials in person from other library collections by presenting a valid Holmesglen identification card and CAVAL card, and are subject to the policies and procedures of the lending institutions. To apply for a CAVAL card please enquire at your nearest Learning Commons.
Inter-library Loans
Staff can use this option to request books not in the catalogue and for articles and other materials not available from the in-house collections. Students can also use this service under special circumstances. Please visit the Inter-Library Loans page for full details of how to request a loan and the conditions of use.
