Careers & Vocational Counselling
Decisions about courses and careers can often be difficult and a
counselling session can assist students to identify the possibilities
that are available to them during or upon completion their course of
their studies. Careers and Vocational counselling is a free and
confidential service available to all Holmesglen students Some careers
counselling services are also available to prospective Homesglen
students (conditions apply).
It is suggested that before you make an appointment for career counselling that you gather information about yourself, your studies, and your potential career direction(s) so that our counsellor is able to best assist you during the counselling session.
Some of the areas the careers counsellor can help with include:
- Career planning and exploration of career options
- Clarifying career goals and direction
- Assisting you to make informed decisions about you career options
- Identifying your interests, values and abilities and how these relate to your career choice
- Fine tuning career strategies
- Exploration of opportunities for further study
- TAFE and University course advice
- VTAC assistance
- A variety of vocational questionnaires and card sorts are available when appropriate to assist with the exploration process.
