Holmesglen has a long history of preparing graduates of its Legal Practice courses for a successful legal career. Kerryn Altenroxel is a shining example of one such graduate. Kerryn was recently awarded two prestigious awards: the Ellen Dickeson Award from the Institute of Legal Executives and a Pearson Education Award in recognition of her dedication in the legal executive field.

Kerryn is employed with one of Australia's top tier legal firms, Clayton UTZ. On completion of her Advanced Diploma of Business (Legal Practice) at Holmesglen, Kerryn was chosen by Clayton UTZ to enter its coveted legal secretary graduate rotation program. She completed three rotations in different areas of the firm under the mentorship of senior legal secretaries. "The experience I gained from the program was invaluable," says Kerryn.

Kerryn credits Holmesglen for much of her career success saying, "Holmesglen played a big role in getting me where I am today. It has strong connections with many top tier law firms and on many occasions the students had the privilege of meeting with representatives of the law firms and learning about the different career opportunities available to us."

Clayton UTZ employs more than 1900 staff nationally, and is just one of the leading law firms with which Holmesglen has an excellent reputation. Another top-tier firm, Allens Arthur Robinson, offered five positions into its legal secretarial graduate program at the end of 2007. All five positions were filled by Holmesglen graduates of the Advanced Diploma of Business (Legal Practice). Additionally the course is well regarded by universities, many of which offer credits for subjects studied in the Advanced Diploma.

Kerryn highly recommends Holmesglen: "All the legal practice teachers were extremely helpful and always encouraging. I really enjoyed my time at Holmesglen!"
