Jaclyn Smith
Jaclyn Smith successfully completed her VCE in 2009 at Holmesglen's Chadstone campus. Previous to this Jaclyn had completed year 9 at Star of the Sea College in 2000 but said she "got mixed up with the wrong kind of people and left high school with no future plans of what was next."
Disenchanted with school but unsure of her career path, Jaclyn went on to study Pathology with Care Training Australia and worked in Pathology with Dorevitch Pathology.
In 2008 she completed the Certificate III in Laboratory Skills at Holmesglen in before deciding to undertake Adult VCE. "The teachers were awesome and they continued to be awesome in the VCE course. They just won't let you down!"
Previous to her studies at Holmesglen Jaclyn attempted her Year 12 at another TAFE institute in Victoria but found the environment at Holmesglen much more friendly and supportive. "The people, both teachers and fellow students, at Holmesglen were always there to offer support and encouragement."
Jaclyn received an ENTER of 84.95, and a score of 40 in Biology. Jaclyn is now waiting to hear if she has secured a place in the Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science with Monash University. Jaclyn wishes to pursue a career in bio-medicine and research.
In Year 12, Jaclyn studied Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Further Mathematics and English.
