This course provides you with comprehensive training for the wall and ceiling lining plastering industry, incorporating a range of practical and theoretical aspects of the trade.

Once you are qualified, you can enjoy a range of career and employment opportunities within the building and construction industry, including the opportunity to run your own business.

This course is delivered as a blended model with both on campus and onsite delivery.


Course structure

To receive this qualification you must complete 19 core units and seven elective units.

Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications.

If you have already completed other eligible elective units, these may be counted towards completion of this program.

ASSESSMENT

Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards

Entry requirements

Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.

These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Training agreement with a registered employer from a relevant industry. Preference may be given to students who have completed a pre-apprenticeship in a related field.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING

You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. Outcomes

QUALIFICATION AND RECOGNITION

After successfully completing this course, you will be eligible to receive the nationally endorsed CPC31211 Certificate III in Wall and Ceiling Lining.

PATHWAYS

Graduates may further studies in the CPC50210 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building), 22268VIC Advanced Diploma of Building Design (Architectural), CPC60115 Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying or one of Holmesglen's building degrees.

How to apply

APPRENTICESHIP

A training contract must be completed by the employer and apprentice within the first two weeks of employment.

An Australian Apprenticeship Centre (AAC) representative will visit the workplace to complete the training contract with the employer and the apprentice.

After a creative trade? Have a keen eye for detail? These time honoured trades are equal parts accuracy and creativity and great if you're looking to start up your own business.

Visit us on Open Day at 6.30pm for a formal presentation highlighting the unique elements and benefits of each trade. Following the presentation there will be a tour across each of the trades workshops with teachers available to answer any specific questions.
