Transform your love for animals into a rewarding career with the Certificate III in Animal Studies.

Throughout this course you’ll learn about the basic care of domestic animals in the companion animal industry, with a specific focus on dogs, cats and birds.

This includes hygiene practices, ensuring health and wellbeing, recognising behaviour, infection control, nutritional requirements, enrichment needs and reception duties.

Compulsory on-campus practical simulation activities, as well as an 80 hour off-campus placement in an animal workplace, will help you to put your knowledge into practice.

Upon graduating, you’ll be eligible to receive this nationally-endorsed certificate, which will give you the opportunity to work as an animal shelter attendant, boarding kennel/cattery attendant, pet shop assistant or veterinary clinic receptionist.

You can also pursue further study at the Certificate IV or Diploma level in fields such as veterinary nursing, companion animal services, captive animals, or animal control.
