Help shape the future of home and community care
The future of home and community care cannot be shaped by one organisation or one part of the sector. It requires people with different experiences, expertise and perspectives working together.
The Centre is creating opportunities for care providers, technology organisations, researchers, educators, government, industry, consumers, carers and community organisations to contribute to its work.
Whether you are responding to a workforce challenge, developing a new technology, exploring a research question or bringing lived experience of care, there are opportunities to connect and contribute.
Bring your challenge, idea or expertise
You do not need to have a fully developed project before contacting the Centre.
You may have identified a workforce capability gap, be exploring how technology could support care at home, have an idea that needs testing or want to understand how a new model of care could work in practice.
The Centre can bring together expertise across education, research, technology, care and workforce development to explore the challenge and identify opportunities to work together.
Who can get involved?
The Centre is designed to connect different parts of the home and community care ecosystem.
- Care providers and employers
Share workforce and service delivery challenges, contribute industry expertise and explore new approaches to training, technology and care.
- Technology organisations
Explore how emerging technologies can support care at home and work with the Centre to understand usability, workforce requirements and real-world adoption.
- Researchers
Collaborate on applied research that explores workforce capability, technology-enabled care, models of care and other emerging sector challenges.
- Educators and training organisations
Help translate emerging knowledge and industry needs into relevant learning, workforce development and practical education.
- Consumers, carers and community
Bring lived experience and community perspectives to help ensure new approaches respond to the needs of the people who receive and provide care.
- Government and sector organisations
Connect policy, workforce and sector priorities with practical research, education and industry collaboration.
From ideas to practical outcomes
Working with the Centre can take different forms. Some collaborations may begin with a conversation about an emerging challenge, while others may involve co-design, applied research, workforce development, technology exploration or testing in realistic care environments.
Where appropriate, the Centre's Smart Home Living Lab and Virtual Smart Home can provide environments for exploring how people, technology, workforce capability and models of care interact before new approaches are adopted more widely.
The aim is to create collaborations that lead to useful knowledge and practical outcomes for the home and community care sector.
