Curriculum Design
Holmesglen has worked across multiple sites in Indonesia with our partner, the Muhammadiyah Foundation. Our goal was to develop skills in English for Specific Purposes (ESP) curriculum design and implementation. The outcome was a curriculum document comprising more than 300 pages of Indonesian-contextualised resources in the field of English for Nursing to be used across universities across Indonesia.
In addition, we have worked with Briton Indonesia, a teacher training program, aimed to enhance participants’ instructional skills and pedagogical confidence when working with youth learners.
English language testing
Holmesglen has delivered English language testing with our partner ZBTI in Ningbo, China and SVU in Suzhou City China for many years years to assess English proficiency for entry into our courses. Holmesglen has also trained ZBTI teachers to administer and assess students’ English competency. We test for authentic communicative interaction. To support this the Listening, Reading and Writing materials are carefully selected to meet the interests and needs of each individual.
Competency-based training curriculum design
Holmesglen has delivered curriculum projects for teachers with long-term partner SICT in Jinan, China since 2020. The project introduces teachers to competency-based training, including the development of curriculum materials for the classroom.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
Holmesglen has delivered the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment internationally for many years. Locations include multiple sites in China, including Huai’an, Jinan, Ningbo, Wuhan, Changsha and Chengdu. Other international locations include Qatar, supporting out Qatar Central Bank project and the Oyu Tolgoi mine in Mongolia where Holmesglen has delivered trades training at the mine site.
Certificate IV in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL)
This program is designed for in-service teachers of English language or other disciplines who need to develop the skills necessary to produce students ready for the global labour market. A key focus of this program is assisting teachers to deliver streamed language content or English for specific purposes. In other words, how to teach English for training in particular vocational or discipline areas such as English for Nursing. The program is delivery in blended format encompassing online and intensive face-to-face mode in country.
