Child safety and wellbeing

Holmesglen is a child safe organisation and is passionate about the safety and wellbeing of all members of the Holmesglen community, especially children and younger people.

Holmesglen is committed to the safety, wellbeing, participation, and empowerment of all children and young people.

We recognise our responsibility to provide an inclusive, respectful and safe environment where every student under the age of 18, and all children who interact with our community, are protected from harm.

We have zero tolerance for child abuse. All allegations and safety concerns are taken seriously and responded to consistently in line with our policies and legal obligations.

We are committed to:

  • Protecting children and young people from all forms of abuse, neglect and exploitation.
  • Promoting inclusion and diversity, all children have equal rights to protection from abuse regardless of their gender, race, religious beliefs, age, disability, sexual orientation, or family or social background.
  • Empowering students’ voices, encouraging them to actively participate in decisions that affect them.
  • Providing safe physical and online environments that foster learning and wellbeing.
  • Ensuring staff and volunteers are appropriately screened, trained, and supported to understand their responsibilities in safeguarding children and young people.
  • Embedding child safety into leadership, governance, and culture, with clear accountability at all levels of the organisation.
