Entry Requirements

Learners must be at least 19 years of age.<br>Learners must hold a current Electrician’s licence (A Grade) or an equivalent licence, in accordance with jurisdictional requirements.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Participants will learn to assess energy consumption, explain the potential benefits of electrification and energy-efficient technologies, and provide recommendations tailored to client needs. Learners will then choose one of the following two units:<p>• SIC10289 Learn about electrification plans for homeowners: This unit focuses on creating detailed plans to improve energy efficiency in residential properties. It covers evaluating energy usage patterns, identifying areas suitable for electrification, and designing cost-effective, sustainable energy solutions.<p>• SIC10290 Learn about submetering for small commercial businesses: This unit builds skills in assessing energy efficiency in small commercial buildings. Participants will learn to conduct detailed site inspections, install sub-metering devices, and analyse energy data to recommend efficiency improvements.<p>The course is delivered over seven hours, combining theoretical instruction and practical application. This includes written evaluations, hands-on demonstrations, and scenario-based activities to ensure participants can confidently apply their skills in real-world settings. The course structure supports the professional development of licensed electricians and builds expertise in energy efficiency management, aligning with Australia's transition to clean energy.
