You will gain a great understanding to the building and construction industry.<p>All the qualification’s units will meet the requirements, and provide some credits in most Certificate III qualifications - apprenticeship courses - in building and construction trades.<p>You’ll gain an understanding of building skills and principles and be exposed to common scenarios you’ll experience on the job.<p>Our teachers are industry experts that have worked in the field. Here at Holmesglen, we structure our courses to use our real-world working environments so you're prepared to enter into an apprenticeship and begin your trade.

Entry Requirements

All Learners must be enrolled in VCE or VCE(VM) at a Secondary College.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.<p>These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Course Structure

Timetable

1 Class per week on Wednesday from 8.30am to 5pm.<p>The CPC20220 Certificate II in Construction Pathways is delivered 1 day a week on a Wednesday for 4 hours over a 2 year period.<p>In Year One, focus is on foundational core units, which emphasise navigating safety requirements within the construction industry and mastering the correct use of tools and equipment. This knowledge is then applied to a bricklaying and tiling project, giving learners the opportunity to practice essential skills in a controlled workplace setting.<p>In Year Two, the course builds upon the knowledge and skills acquired during the first year. Learners engage in more complex carpentry projects while also exploring other trades, such as painting and decorating, providing a well-rounded understanding of various construction trades.
