The UET30621 Certificate III in ESI – Distribution Overhead is a nationally recognised apprenticeship that prepares you for a career as an Overhead Distribution Lineworker in the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI).<p><p>Throughout the four-year apprenticeship, you'll combine industry experience with practical training to develop the skills needed to install, maintain and inspect overhead powerlines, poles, structures, electrical apparatus and associated equipment. You'll also build the safety and technical knowledge required to work confidently around electricity distribution infrastructure.</p><p></p>With training from experienced Holmesglen and industry trainers, you'll develop practical skills relevant to real-world powerline and electricity distribution work, preparing you for a career as an electrical linesworker in the power distribution industry</p>

At Holmesglen, your apprenticeship training combines hands-on learning with industry experience, helping you connect your on-the-job work with the technical and safety requirements of the electricity supply industry.<p><strong>Your training is delivered by both Holmesglen teachers and industry trainers. Holmesglen has third-party agreements with ESI industry partners, including Powercor and Zinfra. Industry trainers work alongside Holmesglen teachers to help ensure your training reflects current industry practices and workplace requirements.</strong><p>Practical training gives you opportunities to work with industry-relevant equipment and infrastructure, developing your skills in an environment designed to support the requirements of overhead electricity distribution work.<p>Throughout your apprenticeship, you'll receive guidance from trainers with industry knowledge, helping you build the practical capability and confidence to apply your learning in real-world Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) workplaces.

Entry Requirements

This program has been designed as an apprenticeship program for Distribution Overhead - Powerline Industry apprentices.<p>Holmesglen requires all learners entering this course to be employed by a provider in the Electrical Supply Industry, Powerline Industry sector, and registered as an apprentice working with an ESI provider.<p>Applicants must be at least 16 years old to enrol in the program to meet the minimum age requirements for training and working in the electrotechnology field in Victoria, as determined by the regulator Energy Safe Victoria (ESV).
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training, apprentices will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining suitability of the course, verify the training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Assessment

Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.

How to apply

Apprenticeship
