The 22632VIC Certificate II in Engineering Studies (Fabrication stream) – VET Delivered to Secondary Students (VETDSS) gives secondary school students practical, pre-employment training in engineering fabrication, while providing pathways to further study and opportunities across engineering, manufacturing and related industries.<p><p>Through hands-on training, you'll develop skills in engineering drawings, welding, basic machining, metal fabrication and the safe use of hand and power tools, including basic experience using lathes and drilling machines. The course introduces areas such as mechanical and structural engineering, fabrication and panel beating, helping you explore different engineering and trade pathways. This VCE VET scored program is available to eligible secondary school students and offers a study score at Units 3 and 4.</p>

Study the 22632VIC Certificate II in Engineering Studies (Fabrication stream) at Holmesglen's <a href="https://www.holmesglen.edu.au/about-us/campuses/moorabbin">Moorabbin campus</a>, where you'll develop your skills through practical, hands-on training in engineering and fabrication workshop environments.<p>You'll gain experience using welding equipment, lathes, drilling machines, hand tools and power tools, while learning safe workshop practices and applying your skills to practical engineering projects.<p>You'll be supported by experienced Holmesglen teachers, who provide practical guidance and help you progressively build your skills and confidence across the two-year VETDSS program.

Entry Requirements

To undertake this program, you must:<br>• Be enrolled at a Victorian secondary school in a VCE, VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) or Victorian Pathways Certificate (VPC) program <br>• Be at least 15 years of age <br>• Have at least a Year 10 level of literacy and numeracy

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Course Structure

Classes are delivered over two years on Wednesdays during school terms, with two session times available to support morning or afternoon attendance:<br>• 8.30am–12.30pm <br>• 1.00pm–5.00pm <p><strong>Year 1</strong><br>Year 1 focuses on industry safety and the safe use of tools and equipment. Through hands-on learning, you'll progressively develop your knowledge and skills and apply them to an engineering project in a controlled workplace setting.<p><strong>Year 2</strong><br>Year 2 builds on the knowledge and skills developed in the first year. You'll complete a welding project, gaining further practical experience and a broader understanding of working in an engineering trade.
