The Issue Work Permits is an 8-hour program designed to equip participants with essential knowledge and skills for issuing work permits and overseeing their safe execution. Participants will learn about permit types, safety protocols, compliance requirements, and monitoring techniques. This program ensures that individuals are proficient in managing work permits effectively, promoting a safer work environment.

Studying the Issue work permits at Holmesglen

The program includes :<br>• An overview of how the permit system sits within the legislative framework and workplace safe systems of work<br>• Types of permits and the hazards associated with each<br>• Roles and responsibilities of permit issuer and other relevant personnel<br>• Permit procedures including hazard and risk assessment, testing, issuing monitoring and closing permits<br> <br>The program and assessment cover the theoretical and safety knowledge that underpins these activities as well as well as opportunities to practice and demonstrate all the skills and required tasks.

Entry Requirements

• White Card (CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry) <br>• At least 12 months current or previous employment in construction, manufacturing or relevant industry <br>• Current employment in relevant industry and referral from employer <br>• Participants are required to have the pre requisite unit MSMWHS201 Conduct Hazard Analysis<br>• Minimum 18 years of age
Prior to enrolment you will be required to complete a pre-training review and may be asked to complete a language, literacy and numeracy test. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
