The ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology (Cloud Engineering) develops practical skills across cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, automation and the Internet of Things (IoT). You'll learn how to design and deploy cloud solutions, manage cloud infrastructure, develop AI and machine learning applications, build connected IoT systems, and analyse data in cloud environments.<p><p>Training uses industry technologies including AWS, Python, Raspberry Pi, Hugging Face Transformers, Scikit-learn and NetLAB+, with projects and real-world scenarios helping you apply your skills across cloud, AI and IoT environments. The course offers HyFlex delivery, allowing you to attend classes at Chadstone or join live online classes via Webex. International students are required to attend classes on campus.<p>

Studying the Diploma of Information Technology (Cloud Engineering) at Holmesglen

Study the ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology (Cloud Engineering) through Holmesglen’s flexible HyFlex learning environment, with classes available on campus at Chadstone or live online via Webex. Whether attending on campus or remotely, you'll participate in teacher-led classes, practical activities and industry-focused projects using contemporary cloud, AI and IoT technologies.<p>You'll be supported by experienced Holmesglen IT teachers, with opportunities to ask questions, collaborate with other students and receive guidance and feedback throughout your studies. On-campus students also have access to Holmesglen’s specialist IT facilities, while online learning is supported through digital resources and virtual learning environments.<p>Please note: International students are required to attend classes on campus.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements specified in the Training Package. However, applicants must be at least 17 years of age and have basic computer and digital skills, including the ability to use a computer, access the internet, manage files and email, install software, and participate in online learning.<p><strong>Technology requirements</strong><p>If you bring your own device (BYOD) or study remotely, you'll need a suitable PC or laptop with at least 16GB RAM, 512GB storage and Windows 10 or later, along with reliable internet access. Remote learners also require a webcam and headset with microphone.<p>The course uses industry and learning platforms including AWS, Visual Studio Code, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers, Scikit-learn, Git, GitHub, Brightspace and Webex.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training, you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a Pre Training Review interview. These will assist with determining your suitability for the course, verify your training plan and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
