Learn everything about web design and development – in the comfort of your own home. <p>The program is the ideal starting point to build your portfolio and get into the web development industry. You will be mentored by experienced developers who will help you build stunning modern websites and prepare you for your future job as a Web Developer.<p>You'll learn to build elegant, responsive websites and web applications using the tools and techniques required in the industry. Open lab sessions are also available with experienced developers who can mentor and guide you through any learning challenges. This course focuses on the essential skills and knowledge needed to build front-end websites and applications.<p><br>Practical lessons and programming challenges are supported by supplementary videos/screencasts via Brightspace. <p>You will learn to create rich, efficient, responsive (Mobile Ready), and accessible websites. This is a practical, industry-based program that will provide you with a firm foundation to step into the workforce or continue with further education in the web development field. Entry Requirements

All applicants must be at least 17 years of age. Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. Your digital literacy skills will be assessed in this interview.These assessments will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your computer skills as above and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Course Structure


The program content material is delivered through online video telecasts/screencasts with practical exercises to test learning outcomes. The learning material is accessible through our online Learning Management System (LMS), Brightspace. Learners are encouraged to engage with other learners and teachers in the discussion forum where they can post their queries and work in progress for peer feedback through Brightspace. They can also submit their work in progress within Brightspace for feedback from their teacher/assessor.<p>You are expected to allocate between 12 to 15 hours per week for study. Learners are encouraged to attend the weekly scheduled whole day Open Computer Laboratories as well as the WebEx sessions twice per week. In addition, learners will have access to online video libraries from Teachers are also available via phone, email or WebEx.
