Course Overview

The HLTAID011 Provide First Aid course at Holmesglen provides the practical skills and knowledge needed to respond to a casualty and manage common first aid emergencies in community and workplace settings. Delivered over one day, the course follows first aid guidelines determined by the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and other Australian national peak clinical bodies.<p><p>Through a combination of theory and practical training, you'll cover first aid procedures, legal obligations, communication with emergency services and workplace authorities, common injuries and sudden illnesses, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). You'll have opportunities to practise first aid techniques and demonstrate the practical skills and tasks required for the unit.</p>

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course, participants must:<br>• Be at least 16 years old<br>• Have the physical capacity to perform CPR for at least 2 minutes on an adult and infant
Prior to enrolment you will be required to complete a pre-training review and may be asked to complete a language, literacy and numeracy test. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
