The HLT43021 Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (General Stream) develops the practical skills and knowledge needed to work as an allied health assistant, supporting physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other allied health professionals across healthcare, aged care, disability and community settings.You'll develop skills in physiotherapy and occupational therapy assistance, rehabilitation, therapeutic programs and group activities, while learning to work effectively with clients and multidisciplinary healthcare teams. You'll also complete practical clinical placement, giving you the opportunity to apply your skills and support the delivery of therapy and rehabilitation programs in a professional healthcare environment.

Graduates of the HLT43021 Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance may choose to continue their studies in programs such as the HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing, BNURS20 Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPhysio), Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, or the Bachelor of Health Science (Occupational Therapy) BSc(OT).

Study the HLT43021 Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance at Holmesglen's <a href="https://www.holmesglen.edu.au/about-us/campuses/moorabbin">Moorabbin campus</a> through mixed delivery, combining face-to-face classroom and practical training with online learning via Webex.You'll be taught by experienced allied health assistants with current industry knowledge and develop your practical skills in Holmesglen's allied health facilities, including simulated hospital rehabilitation and community environments. You'll also have access to virtual reality learning opportunities and the <a href="https://www.holmesglen.edu.au/about-us/our-institute/our-facilities/facilities-for-hire/holmesglen-simulation-centre">Holmesglen Simulation Centre</a>, where realistic healthcare scenarios help you practise your skills in a supported environment before applying them in clinical placement.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for this course, you must be at least 18 years of age at the commencement of the course. There are no other formal entry requirements.Clinical placement requirements Before commencing clinical placement, you must provide the Holmesglen Clinical Placement Office with evidence of: • Up-to-date immunisations • A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) • A valid National Police Check • A valid HLTAID011 Provide First Aid certificate Clinical placement is a mandatory requirement for successful completion of the course.Practical participation requirements You must be able to participate safely in practical training and clinical placement activities, with or without reasonable adjustment. This includes undertaking manual handling activities in accordance with workplace health and safety (WHS) requirements.

Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
