Studying the Certificate III in Pathology Collection at Holmesglen

The course is delivered at Holmesglen's state-of-the-art pathology and biotechnology education facility, where a strong emphasis is placed on practical, hands-on training. You will practice your newly acquired skills in our fully operational clinical skills laboratory, equipped with the latest technology, providing a real-world experience. Entry Requirements

To be eligible, applicants must be 18 years of age at course commencement. <br> <br>Applicants must provide documented evidence of serology results for Hepatitis A, B, C & HIV prior to commencing the course. <br> <br>Applicants will be required to meet all clinical placement requirements by providing evidence of a valid national police record check, a valid working with children's check, and up-to-date immunisation requirements, including but not limited to COVID-19 vaccinations.<br> <br>Applicants should have the ability to interact, communicate, and work in small teams. Comprehend technical reading material (Instrumentation Manuals, Standard Operating Procedures, Material Safety Data Sheets, etc.). Problem solving, such as identifying when data is outside expected results and identifying possible causes, Apply basic digital literacy. A physical ability to stand for long periods and fine motor control are recommended.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.<p><br>Applicants will then complete a pre-training interview at Holmesglen Moorabbin Campus, where these requirements are discussed and assessed to ascertain the suitability and learning needs of the applicant.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Course Structure

Timetable

To receive this qualification, you must complete 14 units in total, comprising of 9 core units and 5 elective units. Holmesglen has chosen elective units based on industry feedback around the skills required for the job. If you have already completed other eligible units, they may be counted towards this program.<p><strong>February Intake:</strong><br>Group A: Monday 9am-4pm, Tuesday and Wednesday 9am-5pm<br>Group B: Monday 9am-4pm, Thursday and Friday 9am-5pm<p><strong>July Intake:</strong><br>Group C: Monday 9am-4pm, Tuesday and Wednesday 9am-5pm<br>Group D: Monday 9am-4pm, Thursday and Friday 9am-5pm<p>Delivery occurs over 16 weeks which includes teacher led face-to-face classes, blended delivery, and industry placement of a minimum 35hrs conducted at the end of course delivery. Learners engage in face-to-face training 3 days per week.
