Studying the Certificate II in Retail Cosmetics at Holmesglen

Study through a combination of face-to-face learning and practical, hands-on training in simulated retail and salon environments. Throughout the course, you'll apply your knowledge through customer-focused activities using professional-grade products and equipment that reflect real retail cosmetics workplaces.<p>Learn from experienced educators who support you as you develop practical skills in make-up application, skincare recommendations, customer service, retail consultations, visual merchandising, conducting financial transactions, infection control and sustainable work practices.<p>Assessment is completed through practical, customer-focused tasks and scenarios aligned with current industry standards, helping you build the confidence, practical skills and industry knowledge needed for entry-level roles in the retail cosmetics industry or further study in beauty, make-up and related fields.

Entry Requirements

There are no prerequisite requirements for this qualification however students must be currently enrolled ins secondary school and participating in the VDSS program, in either year 10, 11 or 12 through one of Holmesglen's partner schools.
Prior to commencing the course, prospective learners should discuss their learning needs and suitability with their school's VDSS or VET coordinator. The coordinator will assess each student's readiness and any specific support needs, then provide relevant information to Holmesglen to help ensure all students are set up for success in the program.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
