Entry Requirements

To enrol, it is recommended that you be at least 18 years old, have completed Year 12, and have a strong interest in the building and construction industry. <p>A minimum of three years' experience in building and construction is required, as outlined below.<p>This course is ideal for those looking to formalise varied building experience, whether as a registered tradesperson, builder, carpenter, or through on-the-job training in a related field. Current construction project managers with outdated qualifications can also benefit from this upskilling opportunity. <p><strong>Experience Requirements:</strong><br>All participants must have at least three years of recent building and construction experience (within the past five years), with exposure to on-site activities. Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Course Structure

Timetable

To receive this qualification, you must complete 19 units in total, comprising of 11 core units and 8 elective units. Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry and staff qualifications. All learning materials and assessments are available upon enrolment. If the learner has already completed other eligible elective units, these will be counted towards completion of this program. The course can take up to 2 years to complete but can be completed in 9 months.<p>Enrolment in the online program has been grouped into eight (8) Blocks where each block can take up to 17 weeks to complete. You may also finish each block in a quicker amount of time. Enrolments in blocks are open four (4) times per year, in February, April, July and October.
