Overview

The Licence to Erect, Alter and Dismantle Scaffolding – Basic course is a 5-day, hands-on program that builds the essential skills needed to safely plan, construct, modify and dismantle basic scaffolding systems. Learners gain practical experience selecting and inspecting equipment, following WHS requirements, and working to manufacturer specifications, SWMS and site procedures. Training includes supervised practice and safety theory, with participants able to complete the WorkSafe-mandated High Risk Work Licence assessment as part of the program.

Studying the Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level at Holmesglen

Studying scaffolding at Holmesglen gives you the confidence and practical skills to work safely in real construction environments. Across the five-day program, you’ll learn how to plan and prepare for scaffolding tasks, select and inspect equipment, build and alter scaffold structures, and follow legislative and site safety requirements. Our experienced trainers guide you through hands-on activities that mirror industry practice, helping you develop strong technique and safe work habits. Throughout the course, you’ll receive personalised support and clear feedback to build your capability. You’ll also have the opportunity to complete the WorkSafe-mandated assessment for your high-risk work licence.

Entry Requirements

• Construction Induction Card (CPCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry) <br>• At least 6 months employment experience in manufacturing, construction or infrastructure industries. <br>• This course is for a WorkSafe licence outcome, which is delivered and assessed in English only. <br>• Participants must be 18 years old or above to meet the High Risk Work Licence requirements.
Prior to enrolment you will be required to complete a pre-training review and may be asked to complete a language, literacy and numeracy test. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course and identify any learning support needs.
A pre training review will be conducted which covers the entry requirements.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. The program consists of one unit of competency CPCCLSF2001 - Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level<p>To work as a scaffolder basic level in Victoria, participants will need to successfully complete the unit of competency CPCCLSF2001 Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level and successfully complete the WorkSafe Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level mandated assessment. Both assessments can be undertaken within this program. Participants can then apply for a Licence to Perform High Risk Work at WorkSafe Victoria.
