Studying the Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level at Holmesglen

In this course you’ll learn the entry-level skills required to work as a scaffolder and set up and dismantle scaffolding to create work platforms on construction sites. Provided with the ideal learning environment, you will get high-quality training, fully compliant with WorkSafe regulations. From our experienced trainers, you will receive the knowledge and plenty of practical exercise required to perform the work of a scaffolder. <p>This unit specifies the outcomes required to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding at the basic level, consisting of scaffolding work connected with the operation or use of modular or prefabricated scaffolds, cantilevered materials hoists with a maximum working load of 500kg, ropes and gin wheels, safety nets and static lines, and bracket scaffolds (tank and formwork) for licensing purposes. This unit is based upon the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work.

Entry Requirements

• Prepare to work safely in the construction industry (White Card)<br>• At least 6 months’ work experience in construction or relevant industry<br>• Minimum 18 years of age
WorkSafe Australia stipulates that assessment is conducted in English.<p>Prior to enrolment you will be required to complete a pre-training review and may be asked to complete a language, literacy and numeracy test. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
