Completing all units forms a key requirement for applying to become a Certified Insulation Installer under Energy Efficiency Council guidelines, ensuring you meet national safety, compliance and professional expectations.

Training is delivered through a blend of online learning and on-campus sessions, allowing learners to build skills in safe insulation handling, energy-efficient work practices, compliance and workplace safety. With hands-on activities, clear demonstrations and opportunities to practise essential tasks, learners gain the confidence needed to progress toward Energy Efficiency Council certification. Entry Requirements

To enrol in this skill set, learners must:<br>• Be 22 years of age at the time of course commencement<br>• Be currently working in the wall and ceiling industry or another trade<br>• Be aiming to become a certified insulation installer<br>• Enrol in the non-accredited unit EEC001 Prepare for insulation retrofitting within ceiling spaces<br>• Hold a General Construction Induction (White Card)<br>• Have Public Liability Insurance with at least $5 million coverage<br>If you are a sole trader, the insurance must be in your own name under your ABN. If you work for a business, you must provide proof of employment and the business’s insurance.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. <strong>Delivery Schedule</strong><p>The Retrofit Insulation Installer Skill Set is delivered through a blended model that combines online and on-campus training, delivered as follows:<p><strong>Week 1</strong><br>• 1 day on campus (8.15am–3.45pm)<br>• Plus 2 days remote/online (6pm–8pm)<br>• Induction and commencement of:<br> – CPCCWHS2001 Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry<br> – CPCCOM1015 Carry out measurements and calculations<p><strong>Week 2</strong><br>• 2 days remote/online (6pm–8pm)<br>• Continue and finalise:<br> – CPCCWHS2001 Apply WHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry<br> – CPCCOM1015 Carry out measurements and calculations<p><strong>Week 3</strong><br>• 1 day on campus (8.15am–3.45pm)<br>• Commencement and completion of:<br> – CPCCCM2012 Work safely at heights (delivered on site at our Drummond Street campus)<p><strong>Week 4</strong><br>• 1 day on campus (8.15am–5pm)<br>• Delivery of:<br> – CPCCPB3014 Install bulk insulation and pliable membrane products (8.15am–12.15pm)<br>• Followed by:<br> – EEC001 Prepare for insulation retrofitting within ceiling space (1pm–5pm)<p><strong>Please note:</strong><br>All onsite classes will be delivered at our Holmesglen Chadstone campus, except for CPCCCM2012 Work Safely at Heights, which will be delivered at our Holmesglen Drummond Street campus.
