Entry Requirements

Holmesglen requires learners must be enrolled as a VCE or VCAL in Secondary School.<br>Learners who undertake this program require digital literacy skills and the ability to:<br>• turn on a computer<br>• connect to the internet<br>• use a mouse, keyboard<br>• open and close a software application<br>• conduct a search in a web browser<br>• send and receive emails
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training, you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability for the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Timetable

<strong>Delivery and timetable</strong><br>This program is delivered face to face for four hours per week over 32 weeks per year, aligned with secondary school reporting requirements. It is a VET Delivered to Secondary Students (formerly VETiS) course and contributes toward the VCE or VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) at a senior secondary college.<p>Classes are planned to run one day per week, typically on Wednesdays, and are offered as either:<p>• Morning session: 8.30am to 12.30pm<br>• Afternoon session: 1.00pm to 5.00pm<p>This flexible scheduling supports school VET timetables.<p><strong>Program hours</strong><br>• 32 weeks per year<br>• 1 day per week<br>• 4 hours per class<br>• 128 hours per year<br>• 256 total hours over two years at Holmesglen<p>Units are selected in accordance with VCAA requirements for VCE and VCE VM programs and align with the school calendar.<p><strong>Independent learning</strong><br>Learners use Brightspace to prepare for classes and complete unsupervised study each week. Activities may include reviewing industry information, completing interactive quizzes, watching video tutorials and working through self-paced learning modules to build knowledge and skills for the plumbing industry.
