Entry Requirements

Students must be at least 18 years old and enrolled in school at the time of commencement.<p>To enter this program, you are required to have completed a Certificate III in Plumbing and the PLUMLICSS1 – Plumbing Licence for Common Units Skill Set.
You will be required to complete a pre-training interview prior to your enrolment or commencement of training. These will assist with determining your suitability for the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Course Structure

Timetable

This program will be delivered through scheduled face-to-face sessions. The delivery format consists of 4-hour evening classes held once a week, lasting for a total of 28 sessions.<p>The PLUMLICSS2 - Plumbing Licence in Drainage Work Skill Set includes mandatory core units prescribed by the Victorian Building Authority (VBA), which must be completed to qualify for a plumbing license in Drainage. These units provide foundational knowledge and skills required for drainage plumbing, covering below-ground sanitary drainage, stormwater, and onsite domestic treatment plants (septic systems):<p><strong>CPCPDR4011 - Design and size sanitary drainage systems </strong><br>This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to design, size and document the layout of sanitary drainage systems for residential and commercial unit developments.<p><strong>CPCPDR4012 - Design and size stormwater drainage systems</strong><br>This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to design, size and document the layout of surface and sub-soil stormwater drainage systems up to legal points of discharge to a residential dwelling (Class 1a), a commercial Class 6 building, and a unit complex comprising at least eight (Class 1a) dwellings.<p><strong>CPCPDR4013 Design and size domestic treatment plant disposal systems</strong><br>This unit specifies the skills and knowledge required to design, size and document the layout of domestic treatment plant disposal systems for a residential design that comprises a dwelling (Class 1a).

Assessment

Outcomes

Qualification and Recognition

Upon completion, you will receive the PLUMLICSS2 - Plumbing Licence in Drainage Work Skill Set. After the completion of the three (3) competencies in this Skill Set (drainage) and the PLUMLICSS1 - Plumbing Licence for Common Units Skill Set, learners will be eligible to sit the external VBA exams and upon completion, apply for plumbing licensing status for the specific “Class of Plumbing”.
