Studying the Advanced Diploma of Cyber Security at Holmesglen

Entry Requirements

The essential requirements for entry into the 22610VIC Advanced Diploma of Cyber Security are: <br>• completion of the superseded (22334VIC) or current (22603VIC) – Certificate IV in Cyber Security or equivalent <br>or <br>• minimum of two (2) years cyber security work experience. <p>Learners must be able to:<br>• operate and troubleshoot networking equipment<br>• install, configure and maintain networking equipment<br>• install, configure and maintain virtual machines<br>• have python programming skills and complete PEN testing tasks<br>• undertake Intrusion Detection and Network Security configuration<p>These technical skills will be determined during Pre Training Review interview through questioning. Supporting evidence of a minimum of 2 years of work experience or Testamur will be required.<p>Applicants must have successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent or of mature age. All applicants must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants intending to learn remotely will require access:<br>• A PC/laptop with the following minimum specification: Quad-Core CPU, 16GB of RAM, 250GB of Storage, 2 GHz or faster processor <br>• Windows 10 OS or higher <br>• Webcam and speaker or headset with microphone (if learning remotely)<br>• Access to internet connection<p>Access to applications used in learning is available through Holmesglen MyHorizon or can be downloaded via the link provided:<p>• Brightspace (Learning Management System) - <br>• 365 Microsoft Office suite - <br>• WebEx - <br>• Google Chrome – recommended web browser <br>• Holmesglen OneDrive – https://www.<br>• Kali Linux - <br>• AWS -<br>• Wireshark -<br>• Splunk -<br>• Microsoft Azure - <br>• Access to NetAcad will be provided by your instructor <br>• Access to NetLab virtual Cisco lab will be provided by your instructor
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview.<p>These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.
Applicants for the 22610VIC Advanced Diploma of Cyber Security program must have completed the the superseded (22334VIC) or current (22603VIC) – Certificate IV in Cyber Security or equivalent or minimum of two (2) years cyber security work experience.<p>All applicants must undertake a Basic Key Skills Builder (BKSB) test. This test will be administered via Holmesglen. You must achieve a minimum exit level three (3), working at level four (4) in Numeracy & Literacy.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training.
