The ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology combines three specialist areas in one program: Cyber Security, Systems Administration and Cloud Engineering, developing advanced skills for managing and protecting modern enterprise IT environments.On successful completion, you'll receive three ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology qualifications, specialising in Cyber Security, Systems Administration and Cloud Engineering, as well as four nationally accredited skill sets.You'll develop practical skills in cloud computing, cyber security, systems administration, virtualisation, automation and infrastructure management. You'll learn to analyse cyber threats, secure IT infrastructure, deploy and manage cloud environments, implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), manage virtualised systems, and respond to cyber security incidents.Through hands-on technical activities and an industry-aligned project, you'll apply your skills to realistic IT scenarios while developing problem-solving, teamwork, communication and professional ICT capabilities.The course is delivered through Holmesglen's flexible HyFlex mixed delivery model, allowing you to attend facilitated classes on campus or online via live Webex sessions, according to your timetable.

At Holmesglen, you'll train in a state-of-the-art Cyber Security Operations Centre (CSOC), providing a specialised environment for practical cyber security and enterprise IT learning.You'll have access to industry-relevant technologies and training environments including NETLAB+, VMware, AWS Academy, CompTIA learning resources, Kali Linux and Windows Server, giving you experience with platforms relevant to contemporary cyber security, cloud engineering and systems administration environments.Experienced Holmesglen IT teachers provide technical guidance, feedback and support, helping you work through complex activities and apply your knowledge in practical scenarios.You'll also have access to Holmesglen's <a href="https://www.holmesglen.edu.au/current-students/course-resources/learning-skills-centre">Learning Skills Centre</a> and <a href="https://www.holmesglen.edu.au/current-students/course-resources/it-help-and-online-tools">IT help and online learning tools</a> throughout your studies.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification under the Training Package. However, to study the ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology (Cyber Security, Systems Administration and Cloud Engineering) at Holmesglen, you must be 17 years of age or older.Prior knowledge and skills You should have basic knowledge of: • Python programming • Virtualisation and operating systems • Cloud computing fundamentals • Cyber security practices, including strong passwords, multi-factor authentication (MFA) and phishing awareness Alternatively, you can meet this requirement by successfully completing the 22603VIC Certificate IV in Cyber Security.Digital skills You should have basic computer and digital literacy skills, including using software applications, web browsers, email, file management and online learning tools. Your digital skills will be assessed through the Pre-Training Review (PTR) interview and BKSB assessment.Device requirements If you bring your own device (BYOD) or study online, you'll need a PC or laptop with a quad-core CPU, 16GB RAM, 512GB storage, a 4GHz or faster processor and Windows 10 or later, as well as reliable internet access. A headset with microphone and webcam is required for online classes.

Prior to enrolment or commencement of training, you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a Pre Training Review interview. These will assist with determining your suitability for the course, verify your training plan and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen.
