Accredited by the <a href="https://www.acecqa.gov.au/">Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA)</a>, the course meets the requirements for <a href="https://www.vit.vic.edu.au/">Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT)</a> Early Childhood Teacher registration.

Studying the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education at Holmesglen

At Holmesglen's <a href="https://www.holmesglen.edu.au/about-us/campuses/glen-waverley">Glen Waverley campus</a>, you'll combine academic study with practical learning through professional placements and innovative simulation experiences. The course is designed to help you develop the knowledge, confidence and leadership skills needed to support children's learning, development and wellbeing in diverse early childhood settings.<p>Students have access to a purpose-built simulation and observation room with specialist facilities and equipment that replicate real early childhood environments, providing valuable opportunities to apply theory in practice. You'll also benefit from <a href="https://www.holmesglen.edu.au/current-students/library">library services</a>, digital learning resources, online collaboration tools and learning platforms that support academic success, digital literacy and professional communication skills throughout your studies.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for entry into the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, international applicants must meet the following requirements:<p><strong>Age Requirement</strong><p>• Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the commencement of the course.<p><strong>English Language Proficiency Requirements</strong><p>To meet the English language proficiency requirements of this course, you will need to demonstrate the following:<p>• IELTS overall score of 6.5 (Academic) or <a href="https://www.holmesglen.edu.au/study-with-us/international-student-study/how-to-apply-international-students/English-requirements-for-international-students">equivalent English language tests</a><p><strong>Academic Requirements</strong><p>• Successful completion of VCE Year 12, or overseas equivalent. Applicants can access information on whether their overseas qualification is equivalent to VCE Year 12 at <a href="https://www.vcaa.vic.edu.au/assessment/results/applying-credit-and-recognition/equivalent-qualifications/assessment-overseas-qualification-vce-equivalence-year-12">Assessment of overseas qualification for VCE equivalence - Year 12 - Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority</a>.<p>Applicants may also be considered on the basis of:<p>• Completion of an Australian VET Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline; or<p>• Partial or completed higher education study at a recognised university or non-university higher education provider.<p>All applications are assessed on an individual basis in accordance with Holmesglen's admissions policies.<p>Applicants who have completed the CHC50121 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care within the last 12 months at Holmesglen may be eligible to receive credit towards the first year of the Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, subject to Holmesglen's credit and recognition of prior learning policies.
