To be eligible, students must be at least 18 years of age. There are no formal entry requirements; however, it is recommended that learners are able to use basic tools such as florist snips and rose strippers and perform simple floral wiring techniques.<p>Learners should also be physically capable of cleaning up after their work, including sweeping and carrying buckets or containers filled with water.<p>Learners must be able to meet the physical requirements of assessment, which may include:<br>• Standing for extended periods <br>• Lifting and carrying floristry materials <br>• Using fine motor skills to arrange flowers

All Learners complete language and literacy testing via BKSB to identify Literacy and Numeracy levels. Learners should be a minimum of level 2.<p><strong>Literacy</strong><br>• Identifies and interprets relevant information and ideas from texts on familiar topics <br>• Uses a number of reading strategies to identify and interpret relevant information within familiar text types <br>• Conveys intended meaning on familiar topics for a limited range of purposes and audiences <br>• Produces familiar text types using simple vocabulary, grammatical structures and conventions <p><strong>Numeracy</strong><br>• Identifies and comprehends relevant mathematical information in familiar activities or texts <br>• Selects and uses appropriate familiar mathematical problem solving strategies to solve problems in familiar contexts <br>• Uses informal and some formal oral and written mathematical language and representation to communicate mathematically
