Entry Requirements

To be eligible for the SIT30125 Certificate III in Tourism (Tour Guiding), students must be 17 years of age or older at the commencement of the program.<p>Applicants should have an interest in tourism and tour guiding, confidence in using or learning new digital tools, and a willingness to participate in practical, customer-facing activities.
Prior to enrolment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify any learning support needs.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Course Structure

Timetable

Classes are delivered on campus two days per week, on Wednesday and Friday, from 9.30am to 4.00pm.<p>To achieve the SIT30125 Certificate III in Tourism (Tour Guiding), learners must complete 15 units, made up of 4 core units and 11 elective units. Elective units are carefully selected by Holmesglen Institute in consultation with industry to ensure strong alignment with current tour guiding roles.

Learners are required to wear appropriate clothing and footwear for all practical activities. <br> <br>Students must supply the following personal items: <br> <br>• Closed-toe walking shoes <br>• Personal sunscreen <br>• Wet weather protection (e.g., rain jacket or poncho) <br> <br>The estimated cost of these items is approximately $100. <br> <br>If any additional safety equipment is required, it will be provided by the Institute.
