Practical tasks involve creating travel plans, interpreting data from charts and schedules, and utilising an industry booking system to book flights and issue domestic air tickets. Holmesglen’s supportive learning environment features specially designed facilities and experienced teachers who guide students through real-world scenarios. Offered as part of the VET Delivered to Secondary School Students program, the course can be completed within VCE or VPC studies, with successful graduates earning credits towards their diploma and expanding career opportunities in the tourism industry.

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification; however, learners must be currently enrolled in a secondary school and studying VCE or VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) in Years 10–12.<p>Course suitability is determined by the secondary school through assessment of literacy, language and numeracy (LLN) skills. Prior to commencement, the school coordinator confirms learners have the foundational skills required to interpret information from texts and charts, use industry and online resources, create basic travel plans, meet deadlines and participate effectively in team discussions.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. <strong>Class schedule</strong><br>Classes for the SIT30125 Certificate III in Tourism are held on campus every Wednesday afternoon from 1.30pm to 5.00pm.<p>In addition to on-campus classes, learners are required to complete approximately 2 hours per week of online learning activities and independent study.<p>This blended learning structure supports skill development by reinforcing classroom learning through self-directed study and practice.
