Entry Requirements

To enrol in the SIT30122 Certificate III in Tourism, learners must be currently enrolled as a Year 10–12 secondary school student undertaking the VCE or VCE Vocational Major (VCE VM) program. The secondary school determines learner suitability and confirms that each learner has the required literacy, language and numeracy skills prior to course commencement.<p>Learners must be able to evaluate and integrate information from a range of familiar and unfamiliar texts, and interpret tables, charts and other visual information. These skills are required to use brochures, online resources, industry systems and trade publications, create travel plans using flight schedules, complete tasks within set timeframes, and participate effectively in team discussions.

Recognition of prior learning

You may be able to reduce the number of units to be studied in your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. Classes for the SIT30122 Certificate III in Tourism are held on campus every Wednesday afternoon from 1:30pm to 5:00pm. <br>In addition to attending these sessions, you will be required to complete learning activities and independent study in your own time, which will amount to approximately 2 hours per week. <br>This structure ensures you can reinforce the skills and knowledge gained during class through self-directed learning and practice.
